How a Hook-All Hooklift Operates
Hook-All Hooklifts are easy to use
The following sections offer an overview of the operation of our Dual Pivot models. The single pivot models pickup the containers in an identical manner but dump differently.

Off Loading a Body
Hook-All Hooklifts operate in 2 different modes, "dump" mode and "load & unload" mode.
The unit is switched between the two modes by locking and unlocking the two hooklift hoists frames. The first step in off loading a body is to retract the Jib arm towards the rear of the truck, this unlocks the two main frames and switches the hoist from "dump" mode to "load & unload" mode. When the frames are unlocked they are free to pivot allowing the hook to move back and place the container on the ground. All Hooklifts whether single or dual pivot, load and unload the container the same way.

The body slides back and the hoist frames are unlocked so the Hooklift frames can pivot and off load the body.

The body is placed onto the ground and the driver can pull away and leave the body at a job site.
Picking Up a Body
To pick up a body, the Hooklift operator backs up the truck and hooks onto the hook located at the front of the box. The complete operation can be done from either inside of the cab or outside of the cab. Only Hook-All Lifts offers both inside and outside cab controls as standard. All hooklifts, whether single or dual pivot, load and unload the bodies the same way.

When the container is fully on the chassis the jib arm, which has the hook on it, extends forward and relocks the hooklift frames together. The unit now is switched back to "dump" mode.
Dumping a Body
To dump the body, the operator simply pushes the dump lever. The Hooklift frames are locked together when the hoist jib is forward so the Hooklift frame dumps as one rigid frame.

Covering a Container Body
To cover a body the tarp gantry is first extended up to clear the front of the body. The tarp may need to be fed out so there is enough slack to fully raise the front gantry. When the gantry is high enough the tarp is unwound and the spring action of the tarp arms extend the tarp over the container. When you reach the rear of the container the gantry in the front is lowered to complete the tarping process.

Uncovering a Container Body
To uncover a body the tarp gantry is raised up as high as possible. With the gantry raised, the tarp is wound up thus retracting the arms and uncovering the container. When you reach the front of the body, the container gantry in the front is lowered to complete the tarping process.
